Data Architect

With approximately 350 people, the Innovation & Brand business unit’s key purpose is to deliver sustainable value through innovative product and technology development to derive the best value from NZ milk.

With a highly investigative mindset and a keen interest in developing technology you will be focussed on defining and implementing our target operating model for data and analytics at FRDC. You will also be providing guidance and developing standards that determine how our data will be categorised, managed, discovered, and accessed to support our aspiration of accelerating research.

We are looking for an innovator with a broad range of practical experience who can architect and deliver data solutions that support our business within an existing framework. You’ll have a BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or any closely related field.
A few other key attributes will be:
Extensive experience in overall architecture in a similar role, including previous use and exposure to Azure and SQL
Ability to comprehend and work with all components in a data and analytics platform and contribute to its end-to-end design and delivery.
Experience and exposure to design and implement solutions in the Microsoft Azure stack....

IT Engineer

You will play a pivotal role in coordinating and managing multiple support vendors, supporting all aspects of Information Technology, software/apps, IT systems, and IT processes. Reporting to the IT Service Delivery Manager R&D, you will work closely with business leaders, IT teams, and third-party service providers to ensure the smooth operation of FRDC's IT infrastructure.

A few skills we will be looking for include:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field.
Extensive knowledge of and experience with, Laptops, PCs, mobile phones, servers and networks
Good understanding of Server Room management
Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
A strong ability in problem identification and resolution and completing impact assessments for users
Knowledge of the principles of support of information systems, service, and technology
Experience with project management
