Meetups
Local meetups cover a wide range of specialised interests in the local tech industry. Some meet monthly, some are quarterly, some are a little more relaxed (but still worth joining). Meeting with others is a great way to pick up new skills, find help with tricky problems, and meet interesting people. Networking is a great way to find a job, because many are not listed publicly.

Building Meaningful Products - The MVP (Minimum viable product)
3 Sep 2024, Tuesday 12:00 PM
Want to unlock the secrets of crafting exceptional products that stand the test of time?
This workshop is designed to help you understand what mindset and steps are needed to start building great products.
The difference between a good product and a great one lies in the mindset and methodologies employed during its creation. Great products are deeply considered, and thrive from experimentation. This session will equip yourself with the insights and strategies needs to embark on the journey of building truly remarkable products.
You'll learn about building product mindset and culture from Harry Simmonds at Founder Park, who has had an incredible career working for some of the world's largest and most innovative tech companies. He has led product teams working on some of the worlds best products at Apple - Apple Vision Pro, HomePod and Siri, and previously worked at Dawn Aerospace, leading the development of the Mission Control system for the Mk-II Aurora Spaceplane. This included building out a new flight control system (HOTAS), and Heads up Display for the Mk-II program.

4 Sep 2024, Wednesday 5:00 PM
Join us for a forward thinking evening, where we will dive into an in-depth view on the Kiwi Tech economy, focussing on the pressure points for Kiwi businesses. We are at an interesting point in the economic cycle. The RBNZ has inflicted much pain, in the pursuit of price stability. They are winning the war on inflation. And their next move is likely to be a cut, this year. In doing so, we should see an uplift in activity. There’s light at the end of the tunnel.
