Digits
We offer digital inclusion solutions. Digits issue chromebook devices to disadvantaged families who require them for their school aged children. This enables them to either take their device to school or do their homework at home. We know that during lockdown periods children required devices to be able to connect with schools. Refurbished chromebooks are from as little as $4 a week for 52 weeks and come with 1 year warranty and insurance cover. Once a month an induction is held where we issue the devices, this is assisted by our volunteers. Our volunteers are generally sourced through Volunteer Central in Palmerston North. Digits also is a partner for Skinny Jump and have available free modems with 30GB of data. Top ups are required at a low cost of $5 for 30GB. Other digital inclusion initiatives are the Digits Hub (temporarily closed) due to traffic light, and will reopen in the City Library at some point. The Hub is manned by volunteers who offer free tech advice.
